The Dutch on Main is coming along nicely and there is work going on in every room of the house. Check out the progress of the kitchen which has transformed from dark and dreary to a bright open space and we aren’t finished yet!
Here is the condition we bought the house in and now you know why I said “what are we thinking” but take a look at the progress as we transform this dingy area into a beautiful, bright space.
Demo day… awe what a great feeling to tear out all the old and dingy. Bonus, I saved the slat boards to use for future craft projects. Its’s amazing to see how these old house were built back in the day!
Amazing what some drywall and new flooring will do to transform a room. There is a video on the blog showing how we hung the drywall and laid the flooring. We painted the walls with Valspar’s “Filtered Shade”, it’s a subtle gray color and added a touch of crispness when entering the room.
I seriously cannot say enough about the way I feel when looking at this progress. We still have some cabinets to install and the granite has been ordered. Oh and these appliances are awesome, we chose the brushed stainless steel because it is easier to clean and shows less fingerprints than regular stainless. I can’t wait to add the finishing touches to this kitchen!
